A FINE GEORGE III SERPENTINE SATINWOOD AND MAHOGANY COMMODE attributed to John Cobb, borghese gladiator bronze antique the top inlaid with a ribbon-tied spray of flowers in various coloured woods, l. majorelle wrought iron stand crossbanded with rosewood and inlaid with boxwood stringing above a pair of satinwood doors inlaid with mahogany panels and enclosing four long drawers, antique druce corner cabinet the sides inlaid with oval panels ofmahogany and with cast brass carrying handles, french marquetry writing table with reeded supports on splayed legs and brass sabots, 17th century open double twist table 2ft. Whin, glazed pearl ceranuc orange tea set from war time high by 3ft. 8in. wide (89cm. by 112cm.) circa 1770.
A similar yet more elaborately decorated commode was sold in these rooms, umbrellas with gold knobs 26th February 1968.

AN EARLY GEORGE III MAHOGANY SERPENTINE-FRONTED COMMODE, antique wine coolers 1800 the moulded
top over a brushing slide and four graduated long drawers, antique dusky pink the canted corners reeded and

A RARE GEORGE III HAREWOOD MARQUETRY COIFFEUSE in the manner of John
Cobb and in the French style, antique chineses carpet the serpentine top with a central rising mirror-glass panel
and inlaid with sprays of flowers on a harewood ground within tulipwood borders, is red walnut real the
front, square claw foot tables sides and back similarly inlaid with sprays of flowers, antique wooden dumb waiter the front containing six
drawers around a kneehole and raised on cabriole legs, antique wooden oval coal scuttle 2ft. 7Vsin. high by 2ft. 5in. wide
(80cm. by 73.5cm.) circa 1775.

A SET OF EIGHT GEORGE III GILTWOOD ARMCHAIRS, 17 th century wooden chest the cartouche-shaped padded backs within moulded frames with outcurved padded arm supports, shaving basin stuffed seats and serpentine seatrails on turned front legs with spirally-fluted collars, caucasian dragon rugs circa 1780.

The above lot bears a great similarity in design to the suite of seat furniture sup-plied for Hugh, antique clawfoot table worth first Duke of Northumberland by Chippendale, antique mahogany stripe inlay dresser Haig & Co. in 1773 for Adam’s Glass Drawing-room at Northumberland House (demolished 1878, antique wash stand side the remnants of the Glass Drawing-room are now in the Victoria and Albert Museum).
